Rockin' the beer gut!

This past Saturday we spent Cinco de Mayo hangin' out with Nickelback! and Seether...and Bush...and My Darkest Days...and it was AWESOME!!! The Captain may or may not have made an appearance too. In the form of a beer belly.
Yes, that's right.. those classy ladies are in fact NOT pregnant, but are sportin' one of these under their dresses.  I personally thought they should have invested in these instead, but it surely wouldn't have been as funny.

A whole bunch of us pitched in to get a suite, fully equipped with food and drink. But dude, that sh*t was expensive....so we resorted to multiple routes of smuggling.
You gotta do what you gotta do!

Not to mention, they didn't stock our preference. ANYWAY... a fantastic time was had by all, except maybe this guy... he may have pre-gamed a little too hard with the Captain.

No worries...we were in a room full of Paramedics and Nurses, he was well taken care of!

Every one of the bands put on a FANTASTIC show.
The lead singer of Bush climbed up in the crowd and performed while walking around the stadium...
Nickelback ascended up into the stands from a floating stage...
We watched it all from GREAT seats!
With great company! (some of Ed's siblings and their significant others)
AND, I really loved the halter top I was wearing. Click here to visit my Mom's blog and see how we transformed it from a MEN'S LARGE into what you see here. My Mommy is SO talented! Thanks again Mom!!!!

A not so rainy day...

The weather forecast last night said that there was a 50% chance of rain today... We must have won that 50/50 chance for the morning, because I spent most of my day looking at this

Rollerblading and 2 hours of tanning at the beach instead of being stuck inside all day? I'll take it...
It's cloudy now, but it can rain allllll night for all I care :-)

Making the best of things...

This weekend could have been bad. In fact, it could have been horrible. It didn't start off too great, but it sure did turn out pretty darn good!

I had my very first test for this semester on Friday, and when I left I sure didn't feel good about it at all! I was exhausted, and bummed, and just in a really foul mood about the whole thing. I kept myself busy until I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer and I went to bed.

The next morning, the Boy came home from work and woke me up so we could head down to the Keys for the day. If you've been following my blog for any length of time, you should not find it unusual that we would just up and run down there for the day... And if you do, you haven't been paying very much attention!

Anyway, I was still not quite awake and ready to take on the day, but I just hoped it would get better... and it did. Halfway down I was able to get on the Boy's spiffy new Evo and check my grade - I passed! Finally, my day could go on! We had a fantastic day on the water with my Godparents. We caught 15 Blackfin tuna, and quite a few junk fish that we threw back.
Unfortunately it takes FOREVER to clean so many fish and we got a late start heading back home. I drove, and let the Boy sleep... It was pretty brutal, but had to be done. He was back on shift again today! He's been working tons of hours lately between overtime, his second job, and working shifts for friends so that they will work for him down the road. Between my school/study schedule, and his work schedule, I feel like I haven't hardly seen him in weeks! Sure was nice to spend a whole day with him out on the water....

Being that I passed my test and all... I felt that I could afford to spend most of the day today slacking off on my studying and spending some much needed time with friends, so I headed off to Ft.Lauderdale Beach.
We soaked up some sun, downed some yummy frozen drinks, and had lunch at Hooters.
I got home just in time for the afternoon rain to start comin' down hard... and I'm back to the books for the rest of the week!

September 11th is a sad day, and I sure am glad that I was able to make the best of it. I do know one thing though... I'll never forget...
My prayers are always with the heroes of our country, as well as their family and friends. I pray for my Boy, that he will always be safe when he leaves me for his 24 hour shifts to serve our community. I pray for my best friend Melissa, that she will stay safe while serving our Country and come home soon and safe. And I'll always remember my friend Chris...

Since Graduation....

I haven't been doing all that much. Getting some things scratched off my "to-do" list around the house, relaxing, working on my tan, oh yeah... and studying :) I've also made time for some fun though...You may remember, one of the things I was looking forward to was my friend Melissa coming home for a week on leave from the Marines the same week that I was graduating - and she did! And we got to spend some good quality best friend time together!

We had a puppy play date, watched New Moon, and hit the beach! That all qualifies as good quality time to me, how about you?

Isn't her puppy, Miss Gracie, the cutest little thing? She's a Jack/Rat Terrior mix, just a few weeks old, and adorable! (She got put in puppy jail - aka Zoey's big crate - in this picture for piddlin' on the floor)

Zoey was so sweet and gentle with her. And tolerant too!
When we took our trip to Ft.Lauderdale Beach we just couldn't resist hitting some tourist shops and buying these cute floppy hats!!! Aren't they great?
I sure do love me some Lissa time and I can't wait until she comes back from Afghanistan so we can play again!
