It's Grocery Time!

Ed's birthday is this Friday, and he's not really looking forward to it. He's gonna be the big 2-5! A whole QUARTER of a CENTURY old! YIKES! lol... Anyway, my job as his "un-wife" is of course to be supportive and help him through this traumatic transition into adulthood by keeping him happy. And how do you keep a man happy!?!?!?!?!? By feeding him of course! lol...

I'm off to the grocery store to acquire the many ingredients needed to make the many things that he especially enjoys. I hope spacing them out throughout the week might make him smile a little and forget about that dreaded day. hahaha.

So what am I making you ask?

Hamburger Corn Casserole, Guacamole,Cheesecake Brownies, and.....Key Lime Pie!!!

I'll be sure to post some pictures and recipes later, but right now it's time to shop!!!!!

Mutt Monday!

My poor Zoey monster had a brain fart the other day. She forgot that she was almost 40 pounds and not allowed to be on the furniture, and she really and truly thought she was a lap dog!

She's so silly! Luckily her daddy just laughed and took a picture instead of yelling at her!

As always... don't forget to head on over to Two Dogs, A Girl, and a Husbands Grace to visit the founder of Mutt Monday, and add your link to her Mr. Linky if you participated too!
(She has the cutest little video up this week of her doggies receiving the treats I sent them!!!)

Stupid People Sunday

All I am going to say is - If you can't add single digit numbers without using your fingers, you should not teach math. Especially to nursing students in reference to calculating DRUGS!

The end.

Summer Swap Goodies

I had so much fun participating in Sweet Tea Diaries summer swap. As I told you all before, I had the most awesome swap partner, Jordan... and I can finally reveal what I sent to her!

Here are all the goodies wrapped up.... (I have to admit that I had a lot of fun wrapping all this stuff up!)
Then I stuffed it all inside a great bag my mom made especially for Jordan. (Isn't it cute? My mom is so talented! I want her to make me one too!!!!)

And... check out Jordan's blog for all the details about what was INSIDE. ;-)

Here is the great Guac recipe I sent her. It's the only thing I make that Ed specifically asks for on a regular basis. He then proceeds to eat it all in one sitting.
Hope you enjoy it too! It's soooo yummy.
(p.s. I forgot to mention - make sure that the avocado's are the big "normal" ones, and not those wierd small ones they seem to have in stores these days. I'm sure they would work, but since they are smaller, you will probably need more than 2. I've never made it with those. If you do, let me know what you think!)

I still laugh about all the things Jordan and I have in common... We both thought of, and included, each other's doggies, and we both bought each other our favorite lip products! So wierd!

Thank you again Angela for hosting this swap, Mom for helping me have some cool stuff to send, and Jordan for sending me some cool stuff too!!!!!

Bad Things Come in Threes....

While I was visiting Ed's grandma in the hospital this afternoon, she told me that Farrah Fawcett passed away today. I had heard this information earlier, and I think it's just terrible news. Her comment prompted a conversation about how bad things come in threes. I mentioned that Ed McMahon passed away earlier this week, and she said "Who will be next?" At the same time, we both said, "Bad things come in threes". I can't explain to you why, but I completely agree with this theory. I can't even come up with a specific example at the current moment, but it always seems to be true. As I was on my way home from the hospital, I heard on the radio that Michael Jackson had been rushed to the hospital. By the time I made it home, I randomly received 2 text messages that he had died. There's the third, grandma....

RIP Ed, Farrah, and Michael. Each of you will always be a part of my childhood memories in some way. As my friend Haley said about it "Some people are so infamous, you kind of feel like they are going to live forever." Unfortunately they do not... and it's very sad.
