Cross my heart.....

Seriously... how cute is my puppy sleeping under the coffee table, belly up, with her paws crossed!?!??!?!!?!?!?

My Big Redneck Wedding?

So Ed and his family are members of the Broward County Airboat and Halftrack club and every year they put on an annual show to raise money for the club. They have a bunch of boats on display and they have a contest for best in show and stuff like that. A bunch of vendors come out and sell t-shirts and boat supplies, and all that good stuff. There is food, a bounce house, super slide, live band, dance floor for line dancing, etc etc. So anyway, Ed was working the front gate there today as he has since he was 8 and I went on down to hang out and check it out, and he was telling me that they had to shut things down and kick everyone out by 10 because they were having a wedding reception there tonight!!!! Can you believe it? They had the actual ceremony on stage while everyone was there. The bride wore black jeans, a cream top, cowboy hat with a camo veil, and a small bouquet of fall colored wildflowers. She arrived to the stage on a swamp buggy, and when she said "I do" they shot off a shotgun, and fireworks. It was one of the most interesting weddings I have ever seen. All wierdness aside, they both looked very happy, and excited to share their day with so many people doing something that they love. The groom is the president of the club. I guess the only thing to say to this is "whatever floats your boat!" I wish them much happiness and never ending love.

Yay!

I have been without my own computer for a few weeks now.... my stupid wireless internet took a crap, and I have been using Eds. It's really not all that big of a deal, except for the fact that I can't just like right click and save random things that I come accross... I can't easily retrieve anything on my hard drive, etc, etc.... Luckily Ed shares well, and I was able to use the internet whenever I needed. Anyway, I finally got around to taking my laptop over to mom and Steves last week, and Steve fixed it and I picked it up yesterday!!! Woo hoo!!! Yay for Steve!!!! It's not exactly 100%, the internal wireless is still messed up, but he was able to fix it so that a usb wireless card would work, and he got one for me! THANKS STEVE! I'm so happy to have my computer back!

The World of the Crackberry

It's official, I have entered the world of the Crackberry. I'm a dork, and I'm excited about it! I used to think it was a waste of money. I used to think that there is just not really any reason to have all of that junk on your cell phone. Cell phones are just for phone calls right? NOT ANYMORE!!!! Phone calls are the LEAST of the priority of a phone anymore. Who needs phone calls when you have such great things as text messaging, and emails? And the convenience of having the internet at your fingertips at all hours of the day, no matter where you are? Ugh, its simply dangerous, and I love it!!! hahaha. I hope I don't turn into one of those people that truly cannot seem to live without their blackberry, but I really do hope that I figure this damn thing out so that I can truly utilize all of it's amazing features when I desire them. I mean, honestly, I wasn't sold on it. Ed and I were due for upgrades on our phones, and we were kind of interested in the blackberry, but weren't sure about them. The thing is, we weren't thrilled with any of the other phones that Sprint offers, and it sort of turned into a why the heck not sort of thing. And if came highly recommended from our awesome Sprint Service Center Rep. Our bill actually wound up being cheaper than what it was before because of the awesome plans that they have now for pda's. I love the idea of internet (google is my best friend after all), and I am really excited about being able to have it when I am in the hospital on clinical days. For one reason, I won't be completely detached from the world all day, and I can look stuff up online when I have questions, AND they make a PDA version of the drug guide we use so I don't have to carry a book around with me. So now that I have justified my dorkiness..... I'm going to try and study for a while so I can play with it some more! It's currently charging :) I'll keep you posted, we'll see if I turn into "one of those". Oh, and did I forget to mention that it comes with NAV!?!?!?!? AND Blogger has an application for it too!!!! It's not looking good me is it?

Just Another Gloomy Day....

I feel like Eeyore today. Anyone think Zoey might resemble Eeyore a little too? Poor thing... she has been couped up all day long, and she keeps going to the porch and looking out. She just gets little potty breaks when it lets up a bit. This weather is disgusting. I have been sitting on my couch all day studying, and this wet stuff keeps continuously falling from the sky and does not appear to be letting up anytime soon. Not that I had anything better to do today. I mean, I can think of things I would have liked to do that I had no enthusiasm towards, but nothing that I HAD to do. What I HAD to do today, was what I did. I studied. And I'm still studying. Nursing school makes you read a lot. Everytime I think I'm accomplishing a lot, I look ahead and see how many more pages I have to read. It's so frustrating!!!!! I do not have the attention span for this junk!

On a more exciting note. A good kind of wierd happened today!!!!! So I got to see Kenny Chesney in Key West last weekend on his Keg in the Closet Tour, and I really wanted a shirt from it, but they didnt have any place down there to sell them. His website finally had them up for sale on Tuesday, and I ordered one. It was $20 with $5 shipping. Now I know that $25 is a little much for a t-shirt, but it's not all that bad for a concert tee... and it was an even better deal when it arrived!!!!!!

TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE!!! Apparently they had some old stock that they were trying to get rid of. So in addition to my Keg Tour tee, I got a free Flip Flop Summer Tour 2007 Tee!!!! Which, btw, was one of my favorite concerts of his ever! It was a great show, AND I got to go with my favorite people! My Aunt, Uncle, and cousin came down from KY, and me, Ed, my mom, step dad, and my little brother all took a limo up to West Palm to see him and it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

So, hopefully my good wierdness is the last of my wierdness for the weekend. Back to the books!

I'm gonna DIE!

Well no, not really.... not yet anyway.... but the day is still young!!!!! This weekend is starting off WIERD!

Let me start out by saying that crime down here is pretty ridiculous these days. Like the 4th or 5th person I know of got robbed yesterday. It's so sad! Every morning when I read the newspaper, most of it is in reference to a burglary and it disgusts me that the world is coming to this. Pretty soon it's going to be so frequent you won't even hear about it in the news because it will be so normal. GRRRR.

So my wierdness started last night. At like 10 I decided to run up to CVS. So when I get there, there are a bunch of cop cars in the lot and a bunch of them just hanging out. It didnt look too unusual (there is a Dunkin Donuts in the plaza after all....) So I go to walk in, and a cop walks out in like full gear and then the lady inside looks at me and motions that they are closed. K.... coulda swore they were 24 hr. Oh well... I go accross the street to Walgreens that I KNOW for sure is 24hr. Everytime I walked down an isle, an employee would come up like right behind me and start fiddling with stuff on the shelves. Now, I'm sure that they were just making sure I wasn't stealing something (I dunno why I looked suspicious), but they were like making me feel creepy because they were so close. And their uniforms are not obvious, and I didnt like it. So whatever, nothing too drastic last night, nothing happened, it just made me feel wierd. And oddly enough I finished off the night by staying up late watching an eerie movie, The Skeleton Key.

So since I stayed up late last night... I slept in this morning. Ed left early for work, and I was out cold. At like 10:30, someone knocks on my door. My thoughts - Am I expecting visitors? No... Do I care enough to get out of bed and look? No.... Anyone who I care about that would stop by would call if I didnt answer. Is my phone ringing? No.... ok, who cares. Then Zoey does a wierd bark like she sees something, not just hears something. (Yes, I'm one of those mom's... you know how your kid has different cries? Mine has different barks. She's like Lassie). Ok, time to get up. Not that I really worry all the much. Ed works for an alarm company, so as you can imagine, my house is like Fort Knox, no kidding. Anyway, it's nothing, nobody there anymore, whatever. However... my house smells like gasoline. great...... I walk out in the garage and the stench almost knocks me over! Ed was working on the carbuerator on the 4 wheeler last night, and apparently he didnt fix it because there was a huge puddle of gas in my garage. Great. I'm gonna die. The fumes had seeped into the a/c intake and spread throughout my house. I text Ed and he says "oops, I'm sorry, I thought I smelled something this morning". lol..... thanks for checking it out babe!!!!! So luckily it's nice and cool and breezy out today. It's actually pretty gross looking, but not raining yet so I shut off the air and opened everything up to air it out a bit. Hopefully by the time it starts raining it wont stink in here anymore.

So... my wierdness doesnt stop there! I go outside with the puppy, and on the way back, I see a big ol' snake on the side of my house! It's like a 3 ft gray racer. Check this baby out! Hopefully it's the last of my wierdness for the day, AND the weekend. I'll keep you posted!

Oh, and I was able to figure out who knocked on my door. Jehovah's Witnesses....  AND it's raining now... :-/

F-

So apparently I didn't survey the situation thoroughly before I made my previous post. It's cloudy. Lights on, books open.

The End
:(

Oh Happy Day!!!

The Sun is out! The Sun is out!!!! My little weather thingy is wrong, it's not cloudy... THE SUN IS OUT! I'm a little excited. 2 days couped up in the house while it was rainy and dreary out was really getting to me. I even had to turn lights on inside during the day- gross. Today I have the blinds open, the natural light is shining in, my mood is much better, and I'm going to lay out by my pool for a little while :)

Weekend Worrier

Do you ever have periods of time where you are go, go, go each and every weekend? And then all the sudden it comes to a screeching hault? Well I'm in one of those situations. I think. I have been so busy the past couple of weekends, I have even been double and triple booked and had to miss things! Not that I'm all that popular, really I'm not, it just always comes in waves in my life. So now, I am pretty sure I have absolutely NOTHING I need to do this weekend (except study of course, which is nothing new). The thing is, I'm so not used to it, that I keep feeling like I'm forgetting something that I actually DO have to do. So... if anyone out there knows of something that I'm supposed to do this weekend that I have forgotten about, please let me know, thanks.

I'm also open for suggestions of things to do :) Maybe the weather will be nice and a beach day is in store? I know there is a Pet Festival at Markham Park this weekend, maybe I'll take the Zoey Monster and check it out.

Bring the whole family (including the furry 4-legged ones) to a fun event at the park.  Lots of booths geared toward pet parents, food, games for the human children and the ones that bark too such K9 Frisbee, Lure Course, etc.  Don't have a pet?  Rescue groups will be on hand with lots of pals that need forever families. Times:  10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.  The event is free, the park's gate admission will be in effect.

My first blog ever!

So I haven't decided yet who to blame my blogging obsession on.... My first adventures on blogger started with regularly checking my friend Jess's wedding blog, so I guess I should blame it on her. From there, I started checking it more frequently, and then started checking the blogs of her followers as well. It's quite addicting! I love to read, so maybe thats why I enjoy it so much. Reading about what's going on in random peoples lives is like a never ending novel. I had started thinking about all the random interesting things that go on in my day, and kept contemplating starting a place of my own to share them. Staying at home with my dog can be pretty interesting! Much less my cooking and baking and flat out "new to me" housewife experiences. When my cousin Paige started a blog of her own, I finally decided to break down and do it. At least it's a better way to keep in touch with her and the family. So what if I'm a dork, there are other dorks out there that want to hear about my day right? At least SOMEONE will listen! The boyfriend gets tired of hearing about it after a while. Even if nobody wants to read it, I'm gonna share it, and shut myself up! Maybe I'll even get some followers and comments along the way to keep me entertained :) Not that I need any more excuses not to study, but I sure do enjoy internet breaks here and there!!!!!
