Anti-Christmas?

We have a year-round Christmas store down here that my Aunt used to take me to when I was younger. She is a bit of a nut about Christmas and decorations, so whenever we/she was having a bad day, we would go Christmas shopping and she would give me a price limit and let me pick out whatever ornament I wanted. Sadly, I haven't been there in YEARS, and that Aunt moved away to Tennessee. :( Fast forward to present day.... A few weeks ago I was on the hunt for a perfect ornament for my swap partner and I hit the Christmas Place. They have ALWAYS had an upside down Christmas tree in the store somewhere decorated gorgeously, it's just what they do. So I was standing near this tree, and this lady walks into the room and says to her friend "Why on earth do they have an upside-down Christmas tree!?!?!?!? That's like anti-Christmas or something! It's like.... the equivalent of hanging a flag upside down!!!!" This lady's friend replied that it was just probably artistic and quickly moved on to the next room...

So... my question to you: Is an upside down Christmas tree the equivalent of hanging a flag upside down!?!?!? And possibly a symbol of Anti-Christmas!?!??! I don't think so... but I just thought it was an interesting opinion that this lady had, and I'm curious as to what your opinions are.

  1. Nah, I think it's cool! Just a different way to decorate. Your decorations aren't what make Christmas. :)

  5. These trees get on my nerves. I went to a Christmas store last year that had on and you had to wear 3-D glasses to "get the full effect"...gimme a real old fashioned tree, that's what I love!

  6. We have a lot here in the UK, they are meant to be space saving because they're not so big at the bottom :) a pretty good idea really, besides its not technically upside down, just trimmed to grow in a different shape :) xx

  7. I'm with Lizzie Loves... the tree is just trimmed differently. People are too busy trying to be PC and "proper". I think they are great, although I might have a little fear of it being top heavy and falling on my busy dog!
